Ronald "Ronnie" House

January 27, 1952 — August 21, 2020

Jacksonville, Akrnasas

Ronald H. “Ronnie” House of Jacksonville was born January 27, 1952, at North Little Rock.  He was the third child and first son of the late Herman Eugene and Flo Ella Turner House.  He died Friday, August 21.

Ronnie grew in the Rose City area of North Little Rock and was a 1970 graduate of North Little Rock High School.  He served in the U. S. Army from 1972 to 1974.  He was an employee of the Kroger Warehouse in North Little Rock from December 1976 until it closed in May 1998.  He worked at the North Little Rock Wastewater facility from June 2000 until his retirement January 27, 2017.

Ronnie was an avid hunter and fisherman.  The walls of his home were adorned with giant bass and deer heads, a rare black squirrel and many antlers, as well as winners’ plaques from his Club fishing tournaments.  Ronnie was a John Wayne fan so there was also a great deal of John Wayne memorabilia.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa J. (Raymond) Williams of Lonoke; two sisters, Linda K. House and Lydia R. Lee, both of Little Rock; one brother Jeff House Sr. (Kay) of Lonoke; two grandsons, Anthony (Kailey) Southerland of Jacksonville and Cody Shanks of Lonoke.  Two nephews, Jeffrey Lynn House Jr. (Sarah) of Cabot and Michael Eugene “Gene” Lee of Little Rock and one niece, Jennifer House of Searcy, also survive him.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Phyllis McGowan of Ward and his grandparents, Rube and Mary Smith House and Lloyd and Florence Cruthis Turner.

Pallbearers will be Jeff House Sr., Anthony Southerland, Cody Shanks, Justin Haycook, Ed Moody, Jeffrey Lynn House Jr., Gary Reeves, Dale Green and Raymond Williams.

In keeping with Ronnie’s love of the outdoors the family suggests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Foundation or the donor’s favorite charity.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Boyd Funeral Home, 207 East Second Street in Lonoke, Arkansas with a burial to follow at Old Austin Cemetery.
