Lindel Gordon

October 10, 1926 — May 29, 2020

Carlisle

Lindel C. Gordon of Carlisle, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 93 years old.

Lindel’s greatest legacy was that he was a proud farmer where he farmed and eventually retired in Lonoke County. He had a passion for farming and missed it dearly after retiring.  He told many stories of planting fields and harvesting in the fall on his family farm.  Lindel also served in many capacities in World War II. After serving in the military he was eager to go back to his family farm. Lindel enjoyed talking about farm equipment and machinery, but above all he enjoyed reading his bible and documenting his daily routine.

He was preceded in death by his Father, John B Gordon and Mother, Carrie Etta Tucker Gordon and siblings; William Stanley Gordon, Edna P. McKaskle, Edward Gordon, Muriel May Gordon Carpenter, Velma Gordon, Nervine Gordon Lantrip,  Fred Gordon and wife Ratha Jean Fulmer Weatherley Gordon.  He is survived by his step children; Angelia Burnett (Jim) of Fayetteville, Karen Weatherley of Sparta Missouri, Sharon Holland (Kenny)  of Greenbrier, Jimmy Weatherley (Susan) of Vilonia, Floyd Weatherley (Kelley) of Greenbrier, David Weatherley of Lonoke, and Ronnie Weatherley (Darlene) of Cabot.

Lindel married the love of his life and became a wonderful Step father to her children as well as fifteen grandchildren and 26 Great Grand Children.  Lindel is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly like they were his own children.
