James "Jim" Davis

James "Jim" Thurlo Davis, 88, of Carlisle, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021, surrounded by his three daughters.  He was born June 29, 1933, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to the late T.D.  and Ruth Davis. Jim had a love of God, family, learning, Christmas, gardening, music, sports and collecting antique glass.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carlisle. He enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens Center where they would socialize, eat and play cards.

He was preceded in death by his parents, T.D. Davis and Ruth Davis;  brothers, Harold Davis and Larry Davis; nephew, Robert Davis; and niece Cathy Davis.

Jim is survived by his loving daughters, Julie Foley (Pat) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jane Beaver of Lonoke, Arkansas and JoSara Walker (Mike) of Carlisle, Arkansas; grandchildren, Nathan Strickland (Jeb), Stefanie Porlier (Justin), Adam Strickland, Matt Beaver, Margo Walker (Wes), Ben Walker (Kailee) and Kenzlee Minton; great-grandchildren, Wes, Elizabeth, Noah, Laiton, Emma, Davis and Baker. Jim is also survived by his two sisters-in-law, Paula Davis and Linda Davis; nephews, Doug Davis (Tina), Larry Davis (Judy), Chris Davis (Allison) Greg Davis (Jessica); and great nieces and nephew, Abby, Nate, Anna and Sophia.

The family is having a private Celebration of Life on August 14, 2021, at the First United Methodist Church (Family Life Center), Carlisle Arkansas.
