David Gannaway

Lonoke

David Lee Gannaway, 84 of Lonoke, passed away July 22, 2020.  He was born in Pine Bluff Arkansas on July 12, 1936, to the late Thomas David and Wanda McCracken Gannaway.  David was raised by his paternal grandparents and his aunt Elizabeth Gannaway.  He graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1954 and Little Rock University in 1966.   He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 32 years of service. He is a member of the Lonoke Baptist Church.  He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Brown Gannaway; a daughter Deborah Lloyd of Lonoke and a son Gregory Gannaway of Carlisle; a special brother-in-law Billy (Karen) Brown of Aurora Colorado, three grandchildren, Derrick Colton, Stacy York and Nicole Lloyd, five great-grandchildren, Hayley, Courtney, Cory, Alexis, Donovyn  and one great-great-grandchildren, Meleah, three nieces and four nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Katherine Veasey.  Special thanks to those who cared for him in hospice and Chambers Nursing Home.  There will be a come and go viewing from 10:00-11:00 with service following at 11:00 on Monday July 27 at Lonoke Baptist Church.  Live streaming of service on church website and Facebook.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the 21st Century Fund at Lonoke Baptist Church or Building Bridges of Lonoke, 518 NE Front St. Lonoke, Arkansas 72086.   Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.  Online guestbook www.boydfuneralhome.net.
