Carl Eugene Fletcher, 79 of Lonoke passed peacefully into heaven on May 18, 2020. He was born November 8, 1941 in Alco, AR to James Henry and Dessie Branscum Fletcher. He was led to Christ at a tent revival led by Evangelist CW Blood who was able to return to Lonoke to baptize him at Roberson Baptist Church. Carl made a precious friend that day.
Carl retired from Union Auto Workers and also retired from operating heavy equipment for several area construction companies. He loved to hunt and fish and always had a beautiful garden. His most favorite pastime was junkin’ with his sister Shirley.
Survived by son and daughter in law Tony and Cathy Fletcher of Lonoke, Grandson TJ and his wife Jessi Fletcher of Conway and his great granddaughter Scarlett Claire Fletcher of Conway. Sister Wanda Williams of Benton, Brother Junior and sister in law Sarah “Bug” Fletcher of Marianna, Sister in law Johnnie Fletcher of Forrest City and a host of nieces and nephews who were all very special to him as well as his dear friends and neighbors Randy and Rhonda Couch and their family.
Preceded in death by his sisters Shirley McKinney, Wilma McBunch, Madge Goodman and Gladys Branscum; brothers J.E. Fletcher, Glen Fletcher, Brother in law Frank Williams and niece Gayla Williams Drown.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 20th at 2pm at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel with visitation preceding the service at 1pm. Bro Woody Evans and Bro CW Blood conducting services. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lonoke.
Pallbearers are Randy Couch, Michael McBryde, Lance Fletcher, Jason Johnson, Anthony Fletcher and Alan Williams. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Arkansas Hospice.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, funerals/visitations will be permitted of no more than 50 people. Face coverings are required for all persons present, with exception for children under the age of 10.
