Una Faye Howard 93 of Carlisle, Arkansas, passed from this world into the arms of Jesus, her Savior on September 27, 2025, after a long, valiant battle against numerous illnesses.
Una Faye was born in 1931, to Reedy R. Rhoads and Carrie May (Etheridge) Rhoads of Center Ridge, Arkansas, that she shared with a brother, Jim Rhoads. Faye (mom) was loved by many family members and friends throughout her long life. Mom had not a single enemy and she loved as her Savior Jesus loved. Always, without question, saw the good in everyone she knew and met. She had the most forgiving heart and her children learned much of these attributes from her.
Faye was married age 21 to Budd Summers, and they soon welcomed 3 daughters, Jo Carol, Sheree Lynn and Delana Gaye, that made up their family However, they lost a set of twins in between, a boy, Lewis Avery and a girl, Janice Marie
After the loss of her husband, of 18 years, Faye remarried and moved to Shreveport, Louisiana, and she and her new husband began a life working with an organization that supported mentally challenged members of society, especially adolescents to young adults. They spent 18 years doing this work and were a very respected couple for their devotion to those under their care.
When they retired, they moved back to Arkansas to be near her daughters. She and her husband lived in Lonoke where they served at the Lonoke Senior Citizen Center for 3years until her second husband passed. She eventually moved in with her middle daughter, Sheree and husband Rick Chandler in 2015, where she resided for the past 10 years. As time went by Faye (mom) developed several serious health issues, but she faced them bravely and fought hard. Besides her love for her Lord, here gifts, her grandchildren, great-grand children and even great-great grandchildren were the focus of her life. They were ever in her thoughts and prayers.
She is survived by her daughters, Jo Carol Bacus of Carlisle, Sheree (Rick) Chandler of Carlisle, and Delana Gaye (Shane) Davidson of Conway. Her grandson Richard (Beth) Simerley of Milpitas, California, Tiffany (Brandon) Cook of Conway, Carrie Brocchus of Pangburn, Ar. and Rolly 111 (Lacresia) Bacus of Cabot. She also leaves behind 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and many cousins that mom loved so much.
Mother also leaves behind her church family at Palm Street Church of Christ where she worshipped and served for many years and whom she loved with all her heart.
Faye is preceded in death by her Parents, Reedy R. Rhoads and Carrie May Rhoads, a dear Step-mother, Feliz Rhoads and her precious twins. A Brother, James L. Rhoads. Her three Husbands Budd Summers, Charles Potter, and Eugene Howard.
A special thanks to the Lonoke Health and Rehab staff for making mom comfortable and cared for during her final weeks.
