Robert Jerry "Burr" Cordell

Robert Jerry “Burr” Cordell, 84, of Lonoke, Arkansas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on July 2, 2026, at Baptist Springhill Medical Center in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was born on November 16, 1941, in Lonoke, Arkansas to James and Lula Mae Cordell. He attended Lonoke High School and graduated with the class of 1959.

Burr was a longtime machinist and heavy equipment operator. He was an avid outdoorsman and will be missed dearly by all of his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by both his parents; his wife Pat Black Cordell; his daughter, Elizabeth Cordell Van Houten; his grandson, Robert Cordell III; siblings, Jamie Lieu Gable, Joe David Cordell, Pam Landis, and Gracie Gable Conners; his long-term companion, Diane Rose Hoefur.

Burr is survived by his son, Bobby (Robbin) Cordell; grandsons, Blake Cordell and Tyler (Lindsey) Van Houten; granddaughter, Jennifer Glover Keller (Aaron); sisters, Mary Jane Hallum (Carroll), Paula Bramett (John), Helen Bryant (David); many nieces and nephews; and his best friend of many years, Larry Gorbet.

The family would like to thank Lonoke Heath & Rehab for the care provided to him over the last several years; with a special thanks to Lauren Fox. They would also like to thank the staff at Baptist Springhill ICU.

A visitation will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
