Patricia Ann Thurgood Burns

Patricia Ann Thurgood Burns, age 86, of Austin, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026. She was born on December 11, 1939, and was raised in Brewer Bottoms, Arkansas.

Patricia will be remembered for her unwavering love of family and the warmth she shared with everyone who knew her. She cherished the relationships she built throughout her life and found her greatest joy in spending time with those she loved. Her legacy of kindness, devotion, and love lives on through her children, stepfamily, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Stephen Lee Burns; her sons, Robert C. Medley (Donna) and John D. Medley (Jenny); her brother, Eugene Thurgood (Reasel); her sister, Glenda K. Barnes (Bruce); her stepson, Sheldon Buterbaugh; her stepdaughters, Natalie Buterbaugh and Shana Buterbaugh; her stepson, Robert Burns; and a host of cherished grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie E. Thurgood and Ruby Mae Thurgood (née Bullock); her son, Stephen E. Medley (Amanda); her husbands, Jim Medley and Sheldon Buterbaugh; her brother, Thomas O. Thurgood and her half sister, Lucy Mae Teal.

Visitation will be held August 4, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., followed by funeral services at 10:00 a.m., at New Testament Missionary Baptist Church in Lonoke, Arkansas.

Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their love, prayers, and support during this time of loss.
