In loving Memory of Mike Staton
August 26, 1954 – April 12, 2025
It is with an immeasurable sense of peace that we announce the passing of our beloved Mike. After a long and courageous health battle, he is finally free from the weight of his suffering. We find comfort in knowing that he is now breathing in the fresh and profound air surrounding his Savior's presence—air untouched by pain and filled only with eternal peace. We know without a doubt that standing at the gates of Heaven was his father, P.D., with arms open wide, ready to welcome his son home. It is a reunion long-awaited and deeply cherished, and it reminds us that love transcends time and distance. A comforting reminder that love never ends, not even in death.
Mike was a man defined by his unwavering work ethic and lifelong dedication to farming, fish farming, and hauling fish—work that reflected his strength, resilience, and devotion to providing for his family. Whether it was long hours in the fields or hauling loads of fish across the country, he never backed down from a challenge and took pride in the work of his hands. Our Poppy had a deep love for those around him—a love that showed up in his big personality. His laugh was loud, his stories were unforgettable, and his heart was always open.
He had a deep and enduring love for the outdoors—whether he was walking through the woods, soaking in the stillness of nature, or just breathing in the open air. It brought him peace on earth, and now, we find peace in knowing he’s surrounded by the beauty of Heaven’s landscape, more vibrant than anything we could imagine. Though we grieve his absence, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for the countless memories and stories we’ll always be able to tell.
His presence in our lives was a gift—one that can never be replaced. But we rest in the peace of knowing he has found his place in the house of the Lord, reunited with his daddy, and surely waiting for us to join him someday.
He was preceded in death by his father, P.D.; and his son-in-law, Joe.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Robin; his mother, Joyce; his children: Stephanie, Summer (Chris), Wade (Jamie), April, Chet, Rayne (Gunner), and Salome; his grandchildren: Scarlett,
Chloe, Valerie (Will), Michael (Mackenzie), John, Wyatt (Paige), Zoey, and Tanner; and one great grandchild, Maddox. He is also survived by his siblings, Paula, Vicki (Jim), and Mark (Crystal); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved him deeply.
