Mary Ardith (Mitchell) King passed to her heavenly home on Monday, March 6, 2023. She was born in Caywood, Kentucky on June 10, 1928, to Barry M. Mitchell and Holly Blanch Crouch. When she was approximately four years old her family moved to the Hill Farm in the Pettus Community.
She led a well lived life first and foremost to the Lord, her family, and many devoted friends. She was a beautiful lady who faced many difficult hardships throughout her life but never wavered from her faith in the Lord or her love and compassion for others. She never was a lady of great means, however, the Lord blessed and multiplied her small earnings to provide for her family and others that she saw in need. Her friends were for a lifetime who shared their many confidents because of her loyalty and love toward them.
Her great wealth was in the passionate love she showed toward her children and grandchildren. She was the Matriarch of the family, and her devotion and unwavering support was the bond that held them all together. She raised her three children to be independent and set an example of her faith for them to follow. She loved going to church, where she received her strength and encouragement to help her through difficult times. Her motto to her children was church first and all other things came after. Her daily devotion was praying for her family calling each by name. Early will I seek you; and I remember you upon my bed (Psalm 63:1&6).
She had no filter with her words especially in her later years and one never knew what she may say. However, she loved life going to country dances on the weekends and seeking new adventures at every opportunity.
Her home going has left a great void in her family that no other will ever be able to fill. Her memories we all share will last a lifetime until we meet her again.
Along with her parents, she is preceded by four sisters, four brothers, and one grandson.
She is survived by three children, Diann (Dempsie)Coffman, Alan (Nina) King, and Dixie (Mike) Gentry); grandchildren, Chad (Penny) Coffman, Melissa Vanlandingham, Rusty (Amanda) Coffman, Laura King, Cindy (Elton) Bryant, Mari Perry, Tiffany (Lance) Turner, Chasity Myers, and Kepi (Michael) Jackson; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A very special appreciation from our family to her devoted caregivers Miss Annie Cooney and Lisa Coffman. They spent many enjoyable hours together caring and visiting with her.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, March 13, 2023, at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel in Lonoke, Arkansas. A private burial will be held for immediate family.
