Mary Catherine Kaufman

Mary Catherine Kaufman, 78, of Lonoke, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born February 8, 1947, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Thomas and Virgie Hughes.

Mary was a devoted member of Roberson Baptist Church. She loved God and all the blessings he provided her and her family. She enjoyed watching her hummingbirds and would spend lots of time outside taking care of them. Mary also had a tremendous love for her beloved Yorkies, Brittney and Baylee. She was featured on Animal planet and Nightline expressing her love for her precious companions. They are to be buried with her. She loved to travel and visited many countries and especially loved going to the islands. She would often be found wandering the aisles of Walmart and chatting up with friends she would run into. Mary's true love and passion were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She absolutely adored spending as much time as possible with her family. This was her greatest joy in life, her family.

Preceding her in death, both her parents, Thomas Jefferson Hughes and Virgie Leona Barker Hughes; sisters, Dorothy Chilldres, Margaret Justice, and Laverne Clark; and her son, Billy Giger.

Left to cherish her memory, her husband of 18 years, Arthur Kaufman; children, Brenda (Rick) Graham of Lonoke, Arkansas, Jeff (Mary) Harrison of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Kelly Harrison of Lonoke, Cory (Dana) Giger of Altoona, Pennsylvania; and a host of well-loved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A visitation will be at 1:00pm, Saturday, January 31, 2026, with funeral services at 2:00pm, at Roberson Baptist Church. Interment will be at Lonoke Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
