Mary Jane Smith

Mary Jane Smith, 87, of Lonoke, Arkansas, passed peacefully on October 5, 2026. Mary was born on June 17, 1939, in Carlisle, Arkansas to Edgar and Essie Morrison. She was the oldest of 7 children and began helping raise her siblings at 15 after their mother became sick and then sadly passed away.

Mary enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She loved to go shopping, thrifting and just spending time riding around. When she was still able, she enjoyed cooking, baking and sharing it with her family. Family time was extremely important to Mary, and she loved spending holidays or special occasions surrounded by her children, grandchildren and siblings. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Dwight Morrison and Essie Margie Bass Morrison; her husband, Thomas Dewitt Smith; sisters, Martha Jean Justice, Linda June Moody; and brother, Carl Allen Morrison.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her 3 sons, Mark Allen Davidson and wife Vickie, Joe Monroe Davidson and wife Angela, and Kyle Keith Davidson; sister, Shirley Lee McDougal and husband Jack, sister, Margaret Evelyn Suggs, brother, Eddie J. Morrison; 5 Granddaughters; 10 great Grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at 9:30am, Friday, October 9, 2026, at Boyd Funeral Home. The Celebration of her Life will follow at 10:30am with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lonoke, Arkansas.
