In Loving Memory of Margaret Louise Uzzell July 26th, 1939 – May 13th, 2025
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Margaret Louise Uzzell of Cabot, Arkansas, who departed this life on May 13th, 2025, at the age of 85 after a courageous and unwavering 13-year battle with cancer. Margaret was an extraordinary wife, mother, and woman of strength, compassion, and quiet grace. She always put her family first, serving as a constant source of support and love to those around her. Her heart was full, her love unconditional, and her presence a true blessing in the lives of all who knew her. Throughout her life, and especially during her long journey with illness, Margaret remained a beacon of light, resilience, and inspiration. Born in Telephone, Texas, on July 26th, 1939, Margaret eventually settled in Cabot, Arkansas in 1978. She devoted 38 years of her life to public service at the Lonoke County Courthouse, retiring on March 31st, 2022, at the remarkable age of 82.
Margaret was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Louise Murley; and her beloved brother, James Russell Murley Jr., of Carlisle, Arkansas. She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, David Uzzell of Cabot, her cherished son, David H. Uzzell Jr. of South Burlington, Vermont, and her beloved Cocker Spaniel, Crackers.
To those who knew her, Margaret was a source of love, wisdom, and endless generosity. She will be remembered not only for the battles she fought with bravery and dignity, but for the way she lived—with grace, humor, kindness, and unwavering strength. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Margaret’s memory to the Carti Cancer Foundation (https://www.carti.com/foundation/donate-now/) and/or the Arkansas Hospice Foundation (https://www.arkansashospice.org/foundation/donate). Margaret was the rock of her family and an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though we are deeply saddened, we are eternally grateful for the beautiful moments and memories we shared. Her love and spirit will live on in us always, and her light will never fade. Rest in peace, Margaret! You are deeply loved by many and will be forever missed!
