Imogene Lackie, 95, of Lonoke, Arkansas, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 31, 2026. She was born on February 4, 1931, in Lonoke County, the daughter of Lillie and Grady Jackson.
She graduated from Lonoke High School in 1949 and married the love of her life, Lyndle Lackie, on June 22, 1952. They shared 52 wonderful years together prior to his death in 2006.
She was a loving homemaker known for playing bridge, golf, and cooking for family and friends. One of her favorite pastimes was camping throughout Arkansas, floating the Buffalo River and enjoying folk music on the courthouse square in Mt. View. She was a member of the Lonoke Baptist Church where she served on the hospitality committee, worked with the youth and arranged flowers throughout the church. She also was a past president of the Lonoke Historical Society and was proud of the restoration of the Lonoke Depot.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Lyndle Lackie and brother, Jimmy Jackson.
Imogene is survived by her son, Richard Lackie of Lonoke; daughter, Lelah Jo Sawyer (John) of Lonoke; and son, Lynn Lackie (Tina) of Hot Springs; two grandsons, Bobby Parker (Allison) of Carlisle and Lee Lackie (Aimee) of Rogers; five great grandchildren, Hayden and Presley Parker of Carlisle, Shaylee, Ben and Lily Lackie of Rogers.
A special thank you from the family for the loving and dedicated care given to Imogene from Ms. Lucille Cogshell and the Baptist Health Hospice team.
A visitation prior to the service will begin at 1:00pm. The funeral service will begin at 2:00pm, Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the Lonoke Baptist Church with burial at Lonoke Cemetery.
Memorials in honor of Imogene may be made to Lonoke Baptist Church “Greater Things” Fund.
