Helen Lorene Tarry Pettit Comer, born June 6, 1927, died February 5, 2013 at Chambers Nursing Home, Carlisle, AR.

She was preceded in death by husbands Bill Comer and Dalton Pettit; parents, F.W. and Mae Tarry; grandson, Richey Brown.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Judy) Pettit of Almyra; daughter, Judy (Herchel) Roberts of Alexander; brother, Buddy (Cleta) Tarry; sister Pauline (Troy) Forrester all of Des Arc; two step-sons Carroll (Barbara) and Donald (Jill) Comer all of Indiana; Grandchildren, Todd (Laura) Brown, Greg (Lana) Brown, Pete, Scott, Brandy Pettit; 5 Great-grandchildren, Matthew (Micha) Brown, Jacob Brown, Seth (Ali) Brown, Robin (Ben) Gibson, Kourtney Pettit; one step-grandson, Luke Ward; 3 Great-great Grandchildren, Brayden, Brynnlee and Isabella Brown.

She was of the Pentecostal Faith, Solid Rock Pentecostal Church, Pastor Elton Lambert of Alexander, AR.  Ms. Comer was owner and administrator of Comer Nursing Home from 1961 to February, 1992 at Carlisle.  She was loved by the many residents and family members thru out these many years. Helen loved the work she was doing and the people she helped.

Her family would like to thank those that took care of her at Chambers Nursing Home, and much thanks to Baptist Health Hospice, 11900 Colonel Glenn Road, Suite 2000, Little Rock, AR 72210-2827.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimers Reasearch, or The American Heart Association, Little Rock, AR.

The family will receive friends, 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, with the service following at 2:30 pm, February 8th, in Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, and interment at Hazen Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.  Online guestbook; www.boydfuneralhome.net
