George Finley

George Finley, 82 of Carlisle passed away on January 25, 2022. He was born on January 25, 1940 to the late Don and Alma Finley in Beeville, Texas.  After George graduated from high school in San Antonio, he attended UALR where he began to pursue a career in medicine. Before finishing his degree, he, alongside his brother Wade, embarked on a life-changing endeavor taking over his father Don’s farm. The two began in agriculture and eventually expanded into aquaculture. Among George’s many accomplishments he also served as a medic in the National Guard. George was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruth and granddaughter, Lauren Kayte. He is survived by his children, Thad Finley and Allison Finley; seven grandchildren, Madeline, Isabella, Taylor, Bailey (Lindsey), Brayden, Lunden and Tristan; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Isaac, and Wesley and brother, Wade Finley (Dianna). Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel with a visitation beginning at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Brownsville Cemetery.
