Douglas Norfleet Hill

Douglas Norfleet Hill, 74, of Lonoke, Arkansas passed at his home Saturday, July 19, 2025. Douglas was born September 20, 1950, to Velma Ruth and Norfleet “Ted” Hill in Lonoke, Arkansas. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1968 where he still holds the record for a mile in under four minutes. He attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello where he was an all-state all-star champion runner and football player. He went into the National Guard after college. Douglas was a jack of all trades. He owned his own mechanic shop, he was a farmer, worked construction and for the last several years worked on his son’s farm. He enjoyed being outside, keeping his yard up, hunting, fishing and spending time with his dog, Jojo.

Preceding him in death is his mother, Velma Ruth Staton Hill; brother, Randy Hill; stepdaughter, Kelly Eagle McGehee; brother in law, Carter Moore; nephew, Curt Moore; grandson, Pierce Leo Meeks.

Left to cherish his memory, father, Norfleet “Ted” Hill; wife, Sandra Lee Eagle Hill; children, Abby (Richard) Smith, Anell ( Blake) Meeks, Lance (Marla) Hill; grandchildren, Grant (Brooke) Smith, Logan (Tabor) Smith, Preston (Bailey) Meeks, Addie Leigh Meeks, Elizabeth Jane Hill; Great-grandchildren, Haper and Alice Meeks; siblings, Janet Moore and James “Tuffy” (Dawne) Hill and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Hopedale Missionary Baptist Church in Dumas. A visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm, Friday, July 25, 2025, at Brownsville Baptist Church in Lonoke. Arrangements entrusted to Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.
