Dorthy L. Grimes

Dorthy Grimes, age 88, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2024. She was born on May 9, 1936, in Lonoke, Arkansas. She was of the Christian faith. 

She is survived by her children, Vandora Grimes, Wen Grimes (Christy), Deloris Grimes, and Amelia Crane (Billy); 3 grandchildren, Arron Turner, Brennen Grimes, and Hayden Grimes. She is also survived by her brother, William H. (Tub) Stoddard; and a niece, Carol Ann Hemmer; and nephews, Will Stoddard, Lee Stoddard, and Mike Stoddard.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Merton and Mattie Stoddard.

Dorthy was very proud of her children and family, always asking how they’re doing. She was an amazing mother. Dorthy was always genuine in her focused concern for others. She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

For those close to Dorthy, knows she had a love for porcelain dolls, having collected them for years also gifted several over the years. Two of her favorite dolls will be laid to rest with her.

A one hour visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke, Arkansas. 

A graveside will follow the visitation going to Wattensaw Cemetery in Lonoke.
