David Lavern Good, 78, of Cabot, Arkansas, passed into the arms of the Lord, after his long-fought battle with cancer on September 2, 2024. David was born July 19, 1946, in Greensboro, North Carolina to Willard & Lorraine Good. David graduated in 1965 from Waterloo East High School in Waterloo, Iowa. He joined the United States Air Force in June of 1965 and served 4 years, with one spent in Vietnam as a security policeman. David received an Honorable Discharge and came back to Arkansas to begin working for the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier for 20 years. He felt a calling to the ministry and became an Assembly of God minister for 34 years. He attended the Fellowship Baptist Church in Cabot.
David married Veda Mae Stivers in October of 1966 and went on to have 2 children. They were married for 43 years until her passing on March 8, 2010.
He met his second wife, Judy, on a Christian dating site and they fell in love and married in 2013. David and Judy loved shopping, he especially loved Hobby Lobby and taking little mini vacations whenever possible. David’s heart, caring and kindness is what drew Judy in. They spent 11 wonderful years together.
Preceding him in death, his first wife, Veda Mae Good, his parents, Lorraine Delphine Bieber Good and Willard Eugene Good, both from Waterloo, Iowa and his beloved sister, Kay Good.
Left to cherish his memory, his wife, Judy L. Good; daughter, Tonya Good Malone and husband Richie from Clarendon, Arkansas; son, David D. Good and wife Amanda from Wichita Falls, Texas; bonus children, Melissa Swatloski of Cabot, Arkansas, Ted Crowell of Wilsonville, Oregon; and 9 very loved grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, September 6, 2024, at 12:00 pm with funeral services following at 1:00 pm at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Concord Cemetery with military honors by the United States Air Force and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
