Charles Alonzo Pope, of Mabelvale passed away on July 2, 2022. He was born on September 25, 1932 to the late Lonnie and Flora Jackson Pope in Mt. Ida, Arkansas.

Charles worked at craftmanship in construction, bridge building, road construction and rebuilding antique cars.  He was of the Baptist faith. Charles and his spouses were avid square dancers, he enjoyed most all sports especially the “Razorbacks”, watching rodeos and gardening. He provided well for his family, believed in humanity and morality. Charles’ love was for his family and his dog, who’s name was “Dog”. His logo was to do your best at whatever you do. Daddy/Papaw is leaving a huge hole in the hearts of all his family and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his spouses, Patsy Ruth Rice Pope, whom he married August 1954 until her passing in 1990 and Fran Carson Pope whom he married in November 1991 until her passing in 2011 and his sister, Joyce Robbins.

He is survived by three sons, Steve Pope of Warren, Eddie (Brenda) Pope of Sheridan and Jerry Pope of Mabelvale; daughter, Debbie Adams of Bella Vista; 11 grandchildren, Robert, Christie, Mike, Tony, Shaila, Blake, Josh, Scott, Tamara, Brandon and Justin; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Kenneth Pope of Missouri and Doyle Pope of Story and sister, Kay Gray of Mt. Ida.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, July 7, 2022 in the Oakland Cemetery in Warren, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice in Charles’ name.
