Billy Ray Norman

Billy Ray Norman, 69, of Carlisle, was met with open arms by our mighty God on August 17, 2023, at 11:42 am. He was surrounded by family at his passing. Bill was born March 10, 1954, to Johnny and Beatrice Norman.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Norman; mother, Beatrice Gables; sister, Darla Mahoney; and nephew, Leslie Setzer.

He leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Wanda Norman (Dog Maci); daughter, Melissa Highfill (Waylon Gordon); sister, Lottie Mitchell (David); nephew, Johnny Setzer (Brooke); great-niece, Megan Adams (Drake and Avery); great-nephew, Justin Setzer; grandson, Tyler Highfill (Heather); granddaughter, Shelby Highfill; great-grandchildren that he loved fiercely; and a host of other family, friends, and caregivers.

Better known as Poppie to most, he was one of a kind. His humor, personality, and ability to pick on people will greatly be missed by everyone that knew him. He enjoyed time with family, especially the grands and great-grands, vacationing in Branson, and collecting tools that he would never use. The love he showed us all will continue to be an inspiration.
