Barry Albert Calva, 72, of Lonoke, Arkansas passed away December 30, 2022. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas November 19, 1950 to the late Grady and Edna Calva.
Barry grew up in Lonoke his entire life. He graduated from high school in 1970 and then went on to serve his country in the US Army but was honorably discharged shortly after for medical reasons. He met his wife, Brenda Calva, of 35 years on a blind date. They had some crazy times, some ups and downs but then he gave up all his wild days around 1996 and turned his life to the Lord. Barry loved church and his church family! I don’t think there was any place he would rather be than there! Barry loved his kids and his family. He had a special relationship with his grandson, Clayden. That was his little buddy/his little sidekick. He would pick him up from school and they would just hang out until his mom got off work. He would always tell him, “PawPaw you are CrayCray!”
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by, his sister, Diane Calva and granddaughter, Jordan Grayless.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Calva; children, Tamara Ellington, Kimberly Randall, & Billy (Juli) Butera; grandchildren, Christina Quick, Jennifer Alton, Alanna (Harley) Graefing, Dylan Svetlik, Nerissa Svetlik, Miles Butera, Joseph (Maddie) Butera, Jeremy Grayless, Elizabeth Butera, & Clayden Ellington; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kahlen, Kambryn, Maverick, Jadelyn Jean (JJ) & Saylor; brothers, Dennis (Helen) Calva of Carlisle, and David (Dorothy) Calva of Cabot; along with nieces, nephews, and many friends.
