Amos Wallis Nichols, age 73, of Carlisle, passed away July 14, 2025. He was born on March 27, 1952 in Carlisle to Allen Nichols and Estella Thomas Nichols. Amos was part of a large loving family. He was one of eight children. Amos worked as a farm laborer during his lifetime. He worked for the Madar Farm, D&S Fertilizer and Clift Parker flying service. Amos enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed to talk and have a good laugh. He could strike up a conversation with just about anyone and ending most conversations with "Have a blessed day." He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include a son, Dustin Cody Nichols; brothers Ray Nichols, Roy Nichols and Dwain Nichols, all of Lonoke; Tony Nichols and James Nichols of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters Betty Bradley and Denise Garland, of Las Vegas, Nevada; a host of nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
There is a daytime visitation on Friday, July 25, from 10 to 5 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel in Lonoke. A one hour visitation prior to service at 10:00am. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church north of Carlisle. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
